Trout National – The Reserve last week announced the hiring of Ian Leggatt as general manager and chief operating officer of the Vineland-based club slated to complete construction in 2025.
As NJBIZ has reported, the project is a collaboration between baseball superstar and South Jersey native Mike Trout, golf icon Tiger Woods, and South Jersey businessman John Ruga.
In this role, Leggatt will oversee all hospitality and operations of the club – leaning on his more than 20 years of experience in the golf industry, which has included serving as general manager at three of North America’s most prolific clubs including Summit Golf Club in Richmond Hill, Ontario, from 2012-2020; St. George’s Golf and Country Club in Toronto, Ontario, from 2020 to 2021; and La Gorce Country Club in Miami Beach, Fla., from 2021 until 2023.
“Ian has a proven track record of leading teams at some of the best private clubs in the world,” said Trout in a press release. “His passion for the game of golf and commitment to providing exceptional and memorable service to our members will be a huge asset to the club.”
In addition to those aforementioned roles, Leggatt also played golf professionally from 2000 to 2009 – which included one PGA Tour win and one Buy.com (now the Korn Ferry Tour) win.
“I’m incredibly honored to lead the team at Trout National – The Reserve,” said Leggatt. “The opportunity to bring Mike and John’s vision to life at a Tiger Woods-designed golf course is a dream come true.”
