Talent advisory firm ZRG acquired Colorado-based Aspen Leadership Group, which focuses on the education and the broader nonprofit sector. 

The Rochelle Park-based firm announced the addition Feb. 6, saying the move reinforces its ongoing investment in higher education. 

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

Ron Schiller, Aspen Leadership Group’s founding partner and managing director, said the move allows his company to “scale its impact exponentially.” 

“With ZRG‘s platform and resources, we are poised to meet many more of the talent needs in education and across the entire nonprofit sector,” Schiller added in a statement. 

Larry Hartmann, CEO of ZRG, called the addition of Aspen Leadership Group “nothing short of transformative.” 

“Their expertise in development and advancement is the perfect complement to our growing education practice … ” Hartmann added. 

Aspen Leadership Group recruits presidents, executive directors and chief advancement officers in higher education, according to ZRG.

Serving more than 1,000 institutions across higher education and academic medicine, ZRG’s education sector offerings and their focus include: 

• The Registry, a ZRG company – interim leadership 
• TurnkeyZRG – college sports recruiting 
• Helbling & Associates – real estate and facilities searches 

ZRG’s acquisitions outside the education sector have included Wiser Partners, a retained executive search firm based in Cincinnati, Ohio; SEBA International, an executive search firm headquartered in New York; and Terra Search Partners, a national real estate executive search firm based in California.
