Montclair Hospitality Group is bringing two highly anticipated Pan-Asian brands to Bergen County.

In addition to launching an eighth location of popular Asian fusion restaurant Ani Ramen House at Bergen Town Center in Paramus, MHG will unveil Mori Mori, a new sushi handroll bar experience by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto.

Both eateries expect to open later this year. They will replace Bobby’s Burger Palace, a fast-casual chain founded by Chef Bobby Flay that shuttered most of its locations during the pandemic.

Founded in 2014, Ani Ramen House is known for house-made pork, chicken and vegetarian ramen broths using Sun Noodles, as well as its bao buns, gyoza and izakaya small plates.

In addition to five New Jersey locations (Montclair, Jersey City, Cranford, Maplewood and Summit), Ani Ramen House has two New York restaurants (Manhattan and Larchmont).

Mori Mori will provide “an affordable and approachable sushi experience,” along with beer, wine, sake and craft cocktails, MHG Chief Executive Officer Joey Simons said.

Expanding menu

At Bergen Town Center, Ani Ramen House will have 75 seats. Meanwhile, Mori Mori will offer 20 seats and outdoor patio seating.

Simons said, “We have partnered with [property owner] Urban Edge to bring these concepts to the epicenter of Paramus and couldn’t be more excited about it.”

Mori Mori is the second of several planned eateries the chef will develop with MHG.

Luxury sushi dining concept MM by Morimoto is slated to open later this year at 193 Glenridge Ave. in Montclair. According to MGH, the restaurant will feature a menu that blends traditional Japanese flavors with a modern twist. Along with appetizers and entrees, the 200-seat eatery will have an Omakase Bar and Omakase dining experience.

Other concepts in MHG’s portfolio include doughnut brand Mochinut and Thai establishment Kai Yang.

The group also collaborated with James Beard Award-nominated chef Robbie Felice to launch Italian-Japanese fusion spot PastaRamen and upcoming Italian sandwich shop Fatto Con Amore.
