After celebrating its centennial anniversary last month, Ascendia Bank has more good news: A new home-base.

Formerly known as Glen Rock Savings Bank, Ascendia began operations at its new location at 11 Harristown Road in Glen Rock Nov. 14 after moving in four days earlier.

According to the financial institution, the headquarters will serve as the hub for the four-branch bank’s operations, housing offices for senior executives; accounting personnel; the Bank Secrecy/Compliance department; and the commercial and residential lending teams, to accommodate their recent – and anticipated – growth.

While the location will offer customer-facing lending services, it will not function as a full branch, Ascendia said. And, those mortgage services offered at the HQ will still also be available at its branch offices in Glen Rock, Hawthorne and West Orange, home to two locations.

In an announcement about the new office, the bank said its expanded footprint is a birthday gift to itself.

“The new headquarters is the finishing touch on a highly eventful year for Ascendia Bank,” said President CEO Ferdinand (Fred) Viaud in a statement. “The modern headquarters and expanded mortgage lending team is the next step in our ongoing evolution, one that has marked milestones with new services, new financial products and, now, new infrastructure – all to the benefit of our valued customers.”

The bank rebranded from Glen Rock Savings Bank earlier in 2022 to acknowledge its broader reach, geographically and technologically, with modern services including internet banking, online bill pay, a mobile banking application and commercial real estate lending.

As of June 30, 2022, the most recent information available, Ascendia Bank had 33 total employees, $311.6 million in total assets and $242.8 million in total deposits.
