Aura Air, a smart air purification solutions provider, is teaming up with the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) to bring its devices to the not-for-profit trade organization’s members across the state.
In a Jan. 4 press release, the Israeli-based company announced the partnership, saying it will help hospitals combat the spread of highly contagious viruses, such as COVID-19, the flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
After noting the “unprecedented surge in patients suffering from RSV, especially very young children,” across the nation, Michael Guerriero, senior vice president of the NJHA, said, “Aura Air’s advanced purification and disinfection technology provides a welcome line of defense against these highly contagious viruses.”
He added, “Our partnership is focused on supporting New Jersey area hospitals and their front-line heroes as they battle the tripledemic.”
With close to 400 health care organizations as NJHA members – including hospitals, health systems, nursing homes, hospice providers and home health agencies – an Aura Air spokesperson said the systems will be installed first in children’s hospitals and pediatric departments before being rolled out elsewhere.
Founded in 2018, Aura Air is a smart, data-driven air purification system that cleanses indoor air and monitors its quality in real time. Using its patented technology, the device filters and disinfects through a unique four-stage process that captures and kills 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, germs and allergens.
Aura Air now has systems in homes, hospitals, schools, businesses, hotels, restaurants, public transportation networks and nursing homes in more than 87 countries around the world. Its latest collaborations include multi-year partnerships with the Detroit Pistons and Delos.
The partnership with NJHA comes as Aura Air reports the findings of an independent study showing that its smart air technology is highly effective in eliminating airborne pathogens that contribute to RSV, a virus that can cause serious respiratory infections in young children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems.
The research, conducted by Innovative Bioanalysis Laboratory, found Aura Air’s system filters and removes 99.997% of airborne RSV, a significant step in creating a safer, healthier breathing environment for everyone.
Roei Friedberg, chief executive officer of Aura Americas, said, “We are committed to helping hospitals mitigate the risks of the fast-spreading RSV. The results of the latest study demonstrate the effectiveness of our four-stage disinfection and purification system to fight the virus in the air. Young people are being hospitalized at alarming rates, overwhelming emergency rooms. Hospitals can count on Aura Air for modern solutions to get through this tripledemic crisis.”
