Borough awards new contract to Middlesex Water subsidiary (updated)

Utility Service Affiliates Inc., a subsidiary of Iselin-based Middlesex Water Co., was awarded another 10-year management contract with the borough of Avalon, the company announced Aug. 17. 

The contract, effective Sept. 1, covers day-to-day operations of the borough’s water and sewer utility and includes maintenance, administrative and customer services. 

USA has been operating and managing Avalon’s water, wastewater and stormwater collection systems for the past 10 years.

Financial terms of the new contract will not be disclosed, the company shared with NJBIZ.

“We’re pleased to be selected to continue serving the Borough’s water, wastewater and storm water needs,” Middlesex Water President and CEO Dennis Doll said in statement. “We’re proud of the work our team has done over the years and we appreciate that, after a competitive process, the Borough of Avalon is once again placing their trust in our company. 

“As regulatory requirements grow more complex, we look forward to leveraging our technical expertise and our commitment to operational excellence for the benefit of Borough residents,” he added.
