Seagis Property Group acquired 60 Leonard St. in Metuchen earlier this year, with Bussel Realty Corp. representing both the buyer and seller in the $24 million deal. At that time, the Edison-based industrial real estate services firm was also tapped to handle leasing at the property.

On Nov. 9, Bussel Realty announced Stephen Izzi Trucking leased 62,802 square feet at the 158,641-square-foot Middlesex County industrial property.

BRC President Steve Bussel represented the landlord, Seagis, in the transaction while BRC Executive Vice President Gregory Irving represented the tenant.

Iriving’s relationship with the tenant covers almost 25 years, according to BRC, during which time he’s represented the company in several other transactions. When this specific requirement was presented to Irving, BRC said he and the company surveyed available inventory to quickly consummate the transaction.

Because he had recently sold the Metuchen property to Seagis, BRC said Bussel was “able to innumerate the benefits of this property to Stephen Izzi Trucking.”

Those benefits include a location near to Interstate 287 and Exit 10 of the New Jersey Turnpike, 21-foot ceiling heights, 20 tailboard, approximately 7,000-square-foot offices and trailer parking. Situated on 7.5 acres, BRC said EFSR sprinklers are also being installed.

Additionally, when it acquired the site, Seagis said the property would undergo a multimillion renovation.
