Campbell Soup Co.’s Chunky soup brand once again is teaming up with defensive stars to tackle .

After the successful launch last year of its Chunky Sacks Hunger initiative resulted in the donation of 1 million meals to Feeding America, Campbell is doubling its goal for the 2023 football season to 2 million meals.

In an Aug. 29 press release announcing the kickoff of the program, the Camden-based soup and snack giant said it will donate one meal to Feeding America for every Chunky microwaveable bowl sold during the regular season.

Corey Provine, director of marketing for Campbell’s soup business, said, “Helping communities is part of Chunky’s DNA, and we’re excited to continue that legacy in our second year of Chunky Sacks Hunger.”

“We hope fans will rally behind our mission of sacking food insecurity and help us reach our goal of donating more than two million meals,” Provine said.

To drive participation in the program, Chunky is partnering with Camden native and Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick to serve as the national spokesperson for Chunky Sacks Hunger.

In addition, the brand is assembling a “Soup Squad” of other NFL players to serve as representatives for the effort in their local communities.

The roster includes:

  • Tennessee Titans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair
  • Detroit Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone
  • Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton
  • Green Bay Packers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell
  • Chicago Bears linebacker Tremaine Edmunds
  • Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard
  • New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley
  • Indiana Colts defensive end Kwity Paye
  • New York Giants outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux

Reddick described working with Chunky as “a full-circle moment” because he grew up down the street from Campbell’s headquarters in Camden.

“I’m honored to work with Chunky Sacks Hunger and inspire fans to join the fight against food insecurity,” he said.
