Salty snack food maker Wise Foods will relocate its Bergen County operations to an industrial site in Totowa, following a new lease.

Lee & Associates – WBE arranged the move to Passaic County. There, Berwick, Pa.-based Wise will occupy 61,000 square feet at 70 Maltese Drive.

According to the firm’s Dec. 3 announcement, partners Andrew Stypa and Daniel Badenhausen as well as Assistant Vice President Kyle Janoczkin served as tenant brokers in the transaction; Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord, Longpoint.

Wise Foods will occupy more than half of the single-story, 84,000-square-foot property. The industrial facility sits on approximately 4 acres. Its features include 16-foot ceiling heights, 10 loading docks and two drive-in doors. The company is well-known for its salty snacks, including Cheez Doodles, Ridgies and other treats.

Announcing the lease, the firm pointed to its long-standing client relationship with the tenant: Stypa has worked on behalf of Wise for approximately 10 years.

Additionally, Lee & Associates – WBE expects to close another lease transaction for the company soon, it said.

“This property’s Passaic County address, offering easy access to major thoroughfares, was very attractive to our client,” Stypa said.

70 Maltese Drive is near Interstate 80 as well as Routes 46, 23 and 3; the Garden State Parkway; and Newark Liberty International Airport.

“We conducted a six-month site search on behalf of Wise Foods,” Stypa added. “Ultimately, this property’s functionality, features and size created an ideal leasing scenario, and enabled our client to meet its additional space requirements.”

Stypa’s other food industry clients include Walong, Tawa Supermarket/99 Ranch Market, Family Foods Supermarkets and House of Spices/HOS Global Foods.
