Cooper University Health Care has opened the first phase of its $150 million outpatient campus at Moorestown Mall, the provider announced Nov. 29.
Located in the site of a former Sears store that closed in 2020, the 166,000-square-foot, three-story Cooper Moorestown Campus is the health network’s largest outpatient facility to date.
“This announcement demonstrates how we are expanding access to Cooper’s outstanding care so that every member of our community can obtain the services they need when they need them in the most convenient way,” George Norcross III, chair of Cooper’s board of trustees, said in a statement.
Construction on the campus began in early 2022, a Cooper Health representative told NJBIZ. The facility offers more than 26 medical specialties, diagnostic services, nearly 100 exam rooms, concierge services, a café and other patient amenities.
Kevin O’Dowd, co-CEO of Cooper, said the Cooper Moorestown Campus is “one of the largest outpatient locations in the tri-state area.”
During the first-phase opening, patients can schedule appointments for primary care and specialties including bariatric surgery, cardiopulmonary diagnostic services, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, infectious diseases, maternal-fetal medicine, nephrology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopaedics/musculoskeletal services, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, plastic surgery, podiatry, pulmonology, rheumatology, thoracic surgery, urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery, and vascular surgery.
Specialists from MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper and cardiologists with Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care will also see patients at the new campus.
Phase two of the campus is expected to open during the first quarter of 2024, Cooper said. Additional services will include physical therapy, radiology, infusion services, radiation therapy, an outpatient surgery center, and Cooper and Inspira Neurosciences.
“We’ve worked hard to create an extraordinary patient experience on the Moorestown Campus that will match the excellent level of care they receive from our clinical teams,” added Dr. Anthony Mazzarelli, co-CEO of Cooper.
This fall, when Cooper Health announced that its foundation’s annual Red Hot Gala had raised a record nearly $4 million, Norcross highlighted some of the health providers initiatives on the horizon, including the Moorestown project. He also mentioned Cooper’s $2 billion expansion of its Camden campus, as well as its merger with Cape Regional Health System.
