Completing a transition that was announced in February, Quest Diagnostics said Nov. 1 that Jim Davis officially succeeded Steve Rusckowski as CEO and president of the Secaucus-based company.
The new leader was also elected to Quest’s board of directors, expanding its composition from nine to 10 directors.
Meanwhile, Rusckowski – who has served in the top positions at the company since 2012 – will remain as chairman of the board of directors through March 2023.
“It is an honor to lead this great company that is committed to making this a healthier world,” Davis said in a statement “Our team will remain laser-focused on growing this business, driving operational excellence, and continuing to invest in important growth opportunities, including advanced diagnostics and consumer initiated testing, as we provide patients and customers with important insights that can improve health outcomes.”
“On behalf of our 50,000 colleagues, I would like to thank Steve for his decade of leadership, placing Quest at the forefront of health care,” he added. “We will build upon the foundation he has established.”
Since Rusckowski’s retirement was announced early in 2022, the company has made a number of changes among its executive ranks, including the naming of a new CFO, Sam Samad, to replace Mark Guinan, who also announced he would retire in February.
In October, Quest revealed additional changes with the addition of a trio of senior vice presidents.
