Diggerland USA opens new attractions ahead of holiday weekend

Diggerland USA is maybe best known for the heavy machinery that inspires its name, but driving construction vehicles isn’t all there is to do at the West Berlin amusement park. And that’s especially true now, with expanded offerings and new rides officially open for the 2022 season.

Now entertaining — and cooling off — guests at the park’s aquatic area, The Water Main, are a new wave pool and crossing activity pool, expanded seating, additional cabanas and shade structures, and a new concession area, the park announced May 26.

“With the opening of the expanded water park, we now offer more aquatic recreation and exciting water features for all age groups and experience,” said Ilya Girlya, co-owner/co-president. “We want our guests to know that The Water Main is an expansion of our attraction footprint and that we are not removing any of our existing attractions.

“Even more exciting, is being able to design and develop exclusive, unique construction rides that our patrons can only experience while visiting Diggerland USA,” he added.

And The Water Main includes some of those new experiences as well: the updated Shake N Roll, which features a 2-ton diesel roller along a fixed course; Crazy Cranes, which allows guests to operate actual cranes to lift all kind of objects; and a new shapes mini excavator challenge.

Admission to The Water Main is included in the price of admission to Diggerland USA. The 21-acre park is open weekends, holidays and when schools are generally not in session, from mid-March through the holidays in December. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the park is open weekends and holidays. It operates seven days a week from June 21 through Sept. 7.
