After serving as external legal counsel since 2009, Englewood Health is adding an attorney from law firm Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP to its executive team.
The Bergen County health care system announced Matthew Amodeo’s appointment as executive vice president of legal affairs and chief legal officer June 1.
In the new role, Amodeo will plan and lead all legal activities for Englewood Health, overseeing in-house counsel and coordinating the activities of outside counsel to ensure all players are in line with the mission, values and goals of the provider.
“It is with great pleasure we officially welcome Matt as in-house counsel for Englewood Health,” Warren Geller, president and CEO of Englewood Health, said in a statement. “As we continue to grow, Matt’s extensive health law background combined with his years of service as outside counsel for Englewood make him a valuable addition to our health system family.”
During his time as external legal counsel, the system said that Amodeo has helped to guide Englewood Health along its growth strategy, to integrate its physician network – a coordinated group of more than 600 office-based and hospital-based providers offering primary, specialty and urgent care at more than 140 locations in five North Jersey counties – and managed care contracting, among other efforts.
