A Jersey Shore-based mobile pizza company known for its wood-fired pies is making its brick-and-mortar debut.
Located at 219 Bridge Ave. in Point Pleasant, Woodshed Pizzeria Napoletana is a dinner-only restaurant that specializes in 12-inch Neapolitan-style pizza as well as appetizers and salads.
An expansion of Woodshed Pizza & Catering, the recently launched eatery features an open kitchen where guests can watch their pizzas being crafted and cooked in a 6,000-pound wood-burning oven imported from Naples, Italy.
Founded in 2021, Woodshed Pizza & Catering is a family-owned and -operated business that cooks up artisanal pizzas onsite in less than two minutes using a custom-built mobile and wood-fired oven. The service is available for events such as weddings, anniversaries and birthdays including with salads, appetizers and desserts.
Ken Nevard, owner of Woodshed Pizza, shared, “We are incredibly excited to open our new location in Point Pleasant. This community has always been close to our hearts and we can’t wait to share our passion for pizza with the residents and visitors of Point Pleasant and Bay Head.”
The restaurant offers vegan options for pizza and salad. Gluten-free pizza is not offered, however Woodshed Pizza said it is “working hard to find a gluten-free product that we’ll be proud to offer our customers.”
Woodshed Pizza is also bring-your-own beer. Wine is sold onsite in either a bottle or a flight.
The restaurant does not accept reservations. Seating at one of its 10 indoor tables or outdoor patio space is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Woodshed Pizza is open 3-9 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and from 3-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Currently, the restaurant does not offer takeout but is working to develop processes and systems that will allow the option.
