To find which companies are doing right by their workers, once again released its annual lists of America’s Best Midsize Employers and America’s Best Large Employers.

The publication partnered with market research firm Statista for the 10th anniversary of the , released Feb. 12.

To determine the findings, Forbes and Statista surveyed more than 217,000 employees working at U.S. companies that employ more than 1,000 people. The responses were analyzed with survey data from the past three years to account for organizations “that may have had just one good year,” with the more recent data weighted more heavily.

Participants were asked:

  • Whether they would recommend their employer (and previous employers) to others;
  • To rate their company based on criteria including salary, work environment, training programs and opportunities to advance

In total, 498 companies landed on the best midsize employers list (1,000 to 5,000 employees), and 701 firms made the best large employers ranking (more than 5,000 employees).
