A Pittsburgh health care services company has acquired a Riverton nuclear cardiology and ultrasound services provider, it announced Wednesday. The Tomayko Group, which provides health systems, private practices and corporations with diagnostic imaging services and other health programs, purchased Omni Diagnostics effective Jan. 30, it said in a news release. That deal made Omni the eighth health care business in Tomayko’s portfolio of companies.
“The acquisition was a good fit for all of us,” John R. Tomayko, owner and president of the Tomayko Group, said in a prepared statement. “Omni is known for its long-term relationships with hospitals and physician practices, its dedicated team of professionals and its extensive network of service sites. We share the same commitment to service and customized offerings to meet changing needs. The move will allow Omni to expand in the marketplace and will strengthen TTG.”
Omni, which was founded in 1998, will keep its name, the Tomayko Group said. Omni manages 21 nuclear imaging sites and seven echocardiography sites, as well as providing equipment, technologists and support for nuclear imaging and echocardiography.
“We are excited about our new relationship with one of the premier nuclear medicine providers in the country,” Theresa Petrelius, Omni’s president, said in a statement. “Jack Tomayko has great vision, and Omni Diagnostics and the Tomayko Group share the same core values. Having TTG’s resources and support will allow us to further expand our services in this region.”
Petrelius takes over as Omni’s president after serving the company in various roles since 2002. She most recently was vice president of operations.
Omni serves New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, including such clients as Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center and the Virtua and AtlantiCare health systems.
