Two regional technology firms recently joined forces to form Helient Technologies LLC, a new provider of cloud and hybrid technology solutions.
The companies behind the merger are Philadelphia-based Helient Systems and Haddonfield-headquartered Princeton Technologies.
Princeton Technologies provides network services and communications solutions for the automotive, health care and local government sectors. Meanwhile Helient Systems, a Microsoft Solutions Partner, specializes in cloud adoption for the legal and other industries, according to the company’s website.
Brad Bono, chief executive officer of the former Princeton Technologies, will serve as chairman and CEO of the newly established firm.
“After a decade of collaboration and mutual respect, joining forces with Helient Systems is a natural next step,” Bono said in an April 1 statement.
The Helient merger was made possible through a partnership with Houston-based private investment firm Genesis Park. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The united firm will employ more than 60 workers, a company representative told NJBIZ. The merger did not result in any workforce reductions.
The representative added that the company will keep both offices for the remainder of this year. The official headquarters remains in Haddonfield.
Steve Hatch, co-founder of Helient Systems as well as Chief Information Officer Jamie Engelhard and Chief Technology Officer Will Fulmer will remain as officers and shareholders in the new company.
Helient’s Wade Goldt serves as chief operating officer and Chris Hines as chief revenue officer.
“By leveraging our collective strengths, we can deliver solutions that enhance customer experience and expand our footprint in technology and telecommunications in ways we never could have achieved alone,” Hatch said about the merger.
Helient noted that both companies also have long-standing relationships with major technology partners, such as Microsoft and Cisco.
New hires include Mario DeRiggi as chief commercial officer and Donna Wenk as chief administrative officer, Helient announced April 8. In addition to various leadership positions in the telecommunications industry, both DeRiggi and Wenk are veterans of Paetec Communications, which Bono co-founded.
Windstream Corp. acquired Paetec in 2011 for approximately $2.3 billion.
