Three New Jersey high schools earned a spot in the Top 100 national rankings by U.S. News & World Report.Three New Jersey high schools earned a spot in the Top 100 national rankings by U.S. News & World Report.
High Technology High School in Lincroft, which is part of the Monmouth County Vocational School District, was the highest-rated New Jersey high school at No. 16 nationally.
Dr. Ronald E McNair High School in Jersey City was ranked No. 49 overall, while Bergen County Technical High School in Teterboro came in at No. 63 overall.
The rankings are based on college readiness, with 6,517 schools nationwide (including 106 in New Jersey) earning a gold, silver or bronze ranking.
Twenty-five high schools in New Jersey earned a Gold Award, which is given to the Top 500 high schools nationally.
The national rankings are dominated at the top by charter or magnet schools. In fact, three schools in Arizona that are part of the BASIS Charter School system earned the top three spots, and five of the top seven nationally were part of the system.
