A global chain specializing in Mongolian hot pot debuted its first U.S. restaurant at American Dream.
Billed as a “communal dining experience,” Little Sheep allows guests to craft their own culinary masterpieces by personally cooking an array of meats, seafood and vegetables in simmering pots filled with flavorful broths and sauces.
Little Sheep’s menu includes a wide range of soup bases, various protein options and sauces, like barbecue, sesame and mushrooms. There’s also various kebabs, appetizers and cocktails.
Established in 1999 in Inner Mongolia, Little Sheep has expanded to more than 200 restaurants across 120 regions and cities, including Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore and Madrid.
In 2011, Little Sheep was sold to Yum! Brands Inc., the U.S.-based parent company of fast food brands including KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and The Habit Burger Grill, for $587 million. Five years later, Yum! spun off its Chinese business into Yum! China, which operates KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell brands in China, as well as owns the Little Sheep concept outright.
Little Sheep founder Zhang Gang went on to launch another hot pot brand, Happy Lamb, in 2017 after reportedly becoming dissatisfied with how Little Sheep was run under Yum!
Commenting on the grand opening, American Dream CEO Don Ghermezian said, “We are thrilled to introduce the captivating hot pot experience of Little Sheep to American Dream. Diners will relish in the excitement of creating personalized, delectable soups that suit their preferences.”
Little Sheep is located on the third floor, across from Mr. Beast Burger and Mozzarella Bar. It is open Monday through Friday, 5:30-9 p.m., and weekends from 2-9:30 p.m.
