Yeurys Pujols has been tapped to be Hudson County Community College’s inaugural vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion, effective July 1.
HCCC President Chris Reber recommended the appointment in consultation with the board of trustees executive committee.
Pujols is executive director of the HCCC North Hudson Campus. He began his career at the college in 2006 as a counselor and history instructor and was appointed director of enrollment and student services in 2010.
Pujols is currently enrolled in the doctoral program in community college leadership at New Jersey City University. He holds a diversity and inclusion certificate from Cornell University, a master’s degree in diplomacy and international relations from Seton Hall, a bachelor’s degree in history from NJCU, and an associate’s degree from HCCC.
He presides as co-chair of the HCCC President’s Advisory Council for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and serves as the college’s deputy compliance officer and deputy Title IX coordinator, among other things.
