Hummus Republic, a Mediterranean fast casual chain, is rapidly expanding across the Garden State.
The California-based concept opened its fourth restaurant in New Jersey, at The Shoppes at North Brunswick, following a grand opening celebration May 6.
Located at 758 Shoppes Blvd., the 2,250 square-foot storefront is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and joins a diverse food lineup at The Shoppes at North Brunswick that includes Starbucks, Chipotle, Haagen Dazs, Five Guys and Crumbl Cookies.
Founded in 2012, Hummus Republic specializes in healthy customizable bowls, salads and pitas. The primarily plant-based menu features numerous protein options and toppings, including house-made hummus, dressings and spreads, as well as vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free offerings.
As part of a nationwide expansion effort, the company began franchising in 2018 and now has 18 stores open in five states. Within New Jersey, Hummus Republic can be found in Long Branch, Morristown and Jersey City.
North Brunswick’s debut is just the first of several more Hummus Republic locations expected to launch across the state. Paramus and Metuchen are included among the 12 additional locations under construction, according to the company’s website.
Of the 31 sites listed as “coming soon,” several are in New Jersey: Freehold, Metuchen, Paramus, Montclair, Hoboken and South Plainfield, as well as a second spot in Jersey City.
Franchising opportunities are available, with the total initial investment cost ranging from $197,000 to $557,000, according to the company.
