Inspired by Somerset Development founder and CEO Ralph Zucker described the opening as an “exciting milestone … as we continue building a place where work, culture and community converge.”

He added the nation’s fastest-growing sport fits that niche naturally. The addition offers another amenity to businesses and organizations that call the 2 million-square-foot home, as well another connection to the larger community.

The new space features Cushion X courts with the same official surface used by the Professional Pickleball Association. Additionally, each court is fenced and equipped with advanced lighting, along with state-of-the-art cameras for review and player improvement.

This location will also offer four social spaces built for gatherings, parties and corporate events. Bell Works says it also plans to unveil a dedicated stairway and adjacent social area with glass partitions overlooking the courts.

Launched in 2023, this spot marks JPC’s first location. Within the next year, the company says it aims to open additional clubs as well as outdoor facilities.

According to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association, pickleball has held the title of fastest-growing U.S. sport for the past four years. In May, that group reported the sport realized a nearly 46% increase over 2023’s figure. From three years ago, participation surged 311%.

Jersey Pickleball Club at Bell Works Holmdel will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Individual memberships start at $60 per month or $500 annually. A limited-time, special Founding Membership package is also available. Public pay-per-play reservations will also be offered when available.
