Construction is underway on ‘ latest multifamily community, which will add 120 units in .

The Branchburg-based commercial real estate building, development and management firm announced Nov. 7 it anticipates a fall 2024 delivery of Monte View at Pohatcong located at 1001 Monte View Drive in its namesake township.

The 9-acre community will feature one- and two-bedroom floor plans in one, four-story elevator building as well as garden-style apartments across three additional buildings. On-site amenities are slated to include a clubhouse, outdoor pool, fitness center, children’s area, pet spa and dog park, and more.

The location, near the Pennsylvania border, is just off Interstate 78.

The start will add another community to the Larken Living portfolio – currently comprising 19 properties in New Jersey and Pennsylvania with approximately 2,500 owned and managed residential units.

“Our Larken Living portfolio is built upon a simple idea – deliver residents the living spaces they need with the amenities they want in locations they seek,” David Gardner, president and CEO of Larken Associates, said in a statement. “Every space delivered by us over the last several years has been meticulously designed with that idea in mind. We are excited to get started on and welcome our future residents to experience what makes Larken Living so special.”

Capping nearly four years of development that has resulted in more than 1,000 residences, earlier this year Larken completed The Reserve at Crosswicks, with 272 units in Bordentown, and The Ridge at Readington, with 254 units in Whitehouse Station.

The company has recorded swift success in its Larken Living portfolio, with five communities – including The Reserve and The Ridge, as well as The Oaks at Copper Chase in York, Pa.; Autumn Ridge at Lopatcong and Hillsborough Village Center – selling out before construction was complete.

Speaking with NJBIZ earlier this fall, the company highlighted the role that its pursuit of technology has played in its success. By offering an AI chatbot on its website, Larken is able to provide information, as well as immediate answers, to questions from potential tenants.

“Us being in this space where we’re able to have people access our availability in real time and apply in real time and get their name on this unit, that puts us ahead of our competitors,” Director of Residential Asset Management Jessica Heckman explained. “It allows us to get these rented faster.”

Beyond Monte View at Pohatcong, Larken says it is in early planning for construction of several additional residential communities in the Garden State and Pennsylvania.
