Roseland-based has introduced a dedicated practice to help clients navigate complex antitrust issues.

Harrison McAvoy and Grant Petrosyan co-chair the newly formed group. The practice offers practical, real-time antitrust counseling across a full spectrum of matters, including litigation, government investigations, and compliance. It also represents companies as both plaintiffs and defendants in .

With the launch of the antitrust practice, the full-service law firm seeks to strengthen its ability to guide clients through complex regulatory scrutiny, high-stakes disputes and strategic decisions where competition issues increasingly shape outcomes.

Mandelbaum Barrett CEO William Barrett commented, “We’re seeing antitrust issues come up in places clients didn’t expect even a few years ago, whether in routine business decisions, competitor interactions, or transactions that draw regulatory attention.

“Our approach is grounded in both the legal framework and the commercial realities our clients are operating in. This is about giving clients clear, practical guidance when the stakes are high and the path forward isn’t always obvious,” he continued.

Barrett added that the firm has recorded growth over the past year across several key areas, such as litigation, healthcare and corporate practices, in response to evolving client needs. The creation of an antitrust group reflects that momentum, as well as the increasing role antitrust issues play in business strategy, he said.

A growing risk

According to Mandelbaum, a broader team of lawyers supports the antitrust practice. These attorneys boast experience and with backgrounds in federal prosecution, intellectual property, complex commercial litigation and criminal defense.

McAvoy noted that companies are increasingly confronting antitrust risk earlier and in more varied contexts than in the past.

“Antitrust issues don’t just emerge in investigations or litigation anymore—they come up in pricing decisions, distribution strategies, data-driven business models, and M&A activity,” the partner said. “What clients need in those moments is advice that’s not theoretical, but grounded in how these issues actually play out, so they can move forward with confidence.”

Petrosyan emphasized the team’s focus on delivering clear, efficient guidance in high-pressure situations.

“Our job is to focus on what really matters, cut through unnecessary complexity, and give clients straightforward advice that aligns with their business objectives,” the partner explained.
