Mattress Warehouse is coming to Middlesex County.
Levin Management Corp. announced June 22 that the bedding retailer will open its first location in the county at North Village Shopping Center on Route 1 in North Brunswick.
LMC Leasing Representative Ed Vasconcellos III arranged the 7,000-square-foot, long-term lease on behalf property ownership, while CBRE First Vice President Gary Leon represented Mattress Warehouse.
“Mattress Warehouse had been pursuing a Route 1 location for quite some time,” Vasconcellos said in a statement. “North Village Shopping Center enjoys a tremendous amount of traffic on Route 1 with more than 100,000 cars passing the property every day.
“Its location also makes it easily accessible to nearby neighborhoods and Route 130,” he added. According to LMC, the center serves a growing residential population of more than 260,000 people within a 5-mile radius.
Mattress Warehouse offers a variety of mattresses in addition to sleep accessories. It opened its first store in Maryland in 1989. Today, the store has nearly 30 locations in the Garden State.
LMC is the exclusive leasing and managing agent for the 124,000-square-foot property, which is anchored by Trader Joe’s, Bed Bath & Beyond and Michaels Arts & Crafts. The tenant roster is rounded out by Wu’s Shanghai Dumpling House (coming soon), Staples, Ulta Beauty, Panera Bread, Smashburger, Chili’s and Lux Nails, with one 1,600-square-foot space still available.
