Signaling a new approach, NAIOP New Jersey is moving its annual President’s Awards and Hall of Fame Reception to Newark’s reimagined Gateway Center.

In lieu of a sit-down dinner, guests will gather Nov. 4 within the glass enclosed Jewel Box. Looking across Raymond Avenue West, the façade invites the outside in while simultaneously framing the historic Newark Penn Station depot across the street. According to NAIOP, the new venue and format reflect input from chapter members – in place of a traditional, sit-down dinner, guests will enjoy an informal honoree reception following the awards presentation.

This year’s ceremony will recognize recipients for the “vital roles they play in supporting the industry” through their service and commitment to NAIOP NJ. Additionally, past years’ recipients will gather for a reunion, according to NAIOP.

“These awards acknowledge the great work of members who have gone above and beyond to advance the objectives of our chapter and ensure the success of commercial real estate development in New Jersey,” commented NAIOP NJ President Mark Shearer. “The spectacular Jewel Box at Gateway Center is the perfect setting for this special evening, and we look forward to celebrating the honorees as well as welcoming back industry icons who have been inducted into the NAIOP NJ Hall of Fame.”

Cocktails and networking begin at 4:30 p.m., with the awards presentation and reception to follow. The event will conclude at 7:30 p.m.
