Posted at 7:58 a.m. Nov. 11: The Mega Millions jackpot continues to rise and is now estimated at $900 million – or $415.3 million cash – heading into the next drawing Nov. 11.

This marks the eighth-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history and comes on the heels of September’s record-setting $1.8 billion Powerball.

Since June 27, the jackpot has steadily risen. No ticket matched all six numbers during the most recent drawing Nov. 7.

The Mega Millions jackpot has reached this level only three times since the current game record of $1.6 billion was claimed in Florida in August 2023. Other recent major jackpots include:

  • $1.1 billion win in Monmouth County March 2024
  • $1.27 billion prize in California December 2024

During this current $900 million run, Mega Millions has generated nearly $288 million in prizes across some 12.4 million winning tickets at all prize levels. Lower-tier prizes have seen significant boosts thanks to the game’s new multiplier system, which allows prizes to grow 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or even 10X. This surge has produced 17 second-tier prizes and 272 third-tier prizes so far, spread across 40 states.

New Jersey players have benefited from this enhanced prize structure – with 16 players seeing their $10,000 base prize double, triple or even quadruple.

In early October, an Ocean County player turned a $1 million base prize into $3 million using a 3X multiplier, while a Bergen County player saw their $1 million prize jump to $4 million in June. Most recently, a Mercer County player doubled a $10,000 prize to $20,000 on Nov. 4.

The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 23, while the jackpot odds stand at 1 in 290,472,336.

The buzz is growing ahead of Tuesday’s drawing, which takes place at 11 p.m.
