recently celebrated the newly remodeled main entrance for its Center for Behavioral Wellness at Pollak.

Additionally, the center unveiled expanded programming for individuals in need of outpatient services.

Part of  Services, together with Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care, the center provides for adults ages 18 and older.

Marli Gelfand, assistant vice president of behavioral health services at MMC, said the team is “so grateful for this inviting new space that makes our patients feel welcome as soon as they enter.”

RWJBarnabas did not disclose the investment amount for the project. Additional construction is underway, a network representative shared with NJBIZ.

More programming

Upcoming offerings at the center will include a Young Adult Intensive Outpatient Program for individuals ages 18–25, according to an April 9 announcement.

Jenna McCook, outpatient director, Child, Adolescent & Adult Behavioral Health Services, noted, “The program will provide evidence-based Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in primarily a group setting, offering individual therapy and psychiatric assessment and follow-up.”

McCook added that the center plans to add an “Adolescent Intensive outpatient program similar to the Young Adult Program supporting individuals ages 13–17″ in early 2027.

Monmouth Medical Center also offers traditional outpatient behavioral health services for clients ages 5–17, as well as Child and Adolescent Crisis Diversion Programming. Both are available at the Early Intervention Support Services’ Neptune location and at the hospital’s Long Branch campus.

In January, the New Jersey Department of Health approved Monmouth Medical Center’s move from Long Branch to Tinton Falls. However, RWJBarnabas Health has committed to keeping certain services – including inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services – in Long Branch.

During the ceremony, Sen. Vin Gopal and Assemblywomen Dr. Margie Donlon and Luanne Peterpaul – all Democrats representing the 11th District – presented a New Jersey State Joint Legislative Resolution in support of the Center for Behavioral Wellness.
