New Jersey American Water announced a total investment of $10.2 million in multiple communities to replace aging water main, fire hydrants and utility-owned service lines.
The Camden-based water utility, which announced the work Dec. 1, will also replace any lead or galvanized customer-owned service line as part of a statewide initiative to remove this type of line by 2031.

All projects are part of the company’s multimillion-dollar initiative to renew water infrastructure in more than 100 communities across the state.
Residents are cautioned to be aware of traffic restrictions and alternating traffic patterns.
CRJ Contracting Inc., a contractor for New Jersey American Water, began work on Whittingham Terrace and will begin work on Myrtle Avenue in early December. The work will be completed along Myrtle Avenue from Glen Avenue to Mountain Avenue and Whittingham Terrace from Ridgewood Road to Millburn Avenue.
Weather permitting, work is expected to take about a month on Whittingham Terrace and three months on Myrtle Avenue. Final street restorations will be completed in spring and summer of 2023.
Contractors began work in Neptune City and Township and will begin work the week of Dec. 5 in Bayhead and West Long Branch.
Upgrades will take place along the following streets:
Weather permitting, work is expected to take about two months in Neptune and West Long Branch and three months in Bayhead. Final street restorations will be completed in spring of 2023.

Pioneer Pipe Contractors Inc. expects to be completed within two months, weather permitting. Final street restorations will be completed in spring of 2023.
CRJ Contracting Inc. began work Dec. 2 on Brook Avenue from Sandford Avenue to Meadowbrook Road. The project is expected to be completed within two months, weather permitting. Final street restorations will be completed in spring of 2023.
