A lucky New Jersey player made iGaming history this week, hitting the largest online casino jackpot in U.S. history on the Jersey City-headquartered BetMGM platform.

The player won “The Big One” progressive jackpot for $6.5 million Aug. 19 playing Fruit Blaster. He cashed in the record sum on just a $200 bet.

Fruit Blaster, developed in-house by Entain, is a five-reel slot with “The Big One” jackpot slot game. Wins are based on a combination of various symbols. In late February, the progressive jackpot reached an operator record of $4 million. It grew throughout the spring on “The Big One,” which is BetMGM‘s progressive jackpot pool of exclusive in-house produced game – also by Entain.

New Jersey iGaming players can win the progressive jackpot at BetMGM, Borgata, Wheel of Fortune Casino and Party Casino.

In 2023, BetMGM casino platforms awarded more than $138 million in progressive jackpot payouts, a 32% increase year over year.

Following the record payout, BetMGM’s “The Big One” progressive jackpot was reset. As of Aug. 20, it stood at $1.2 million.
