For obvious reasons, the health care industry has been changing rapidly and significantly over the past few years. And those changes are altering the dynamics of the medical office market in New Jersey.
The broader use of technology – particularly with regard to the increasing use of telehealth – is changing the kinds of spaces practitioners need. And the ongoing consolidation wave is keeping health care providers on the move as physician groups and other entities are acquired and brought together. Retail locations and other kinds of spaces have fallen into disuse, creating opportunities to repurpose those sites to new uses.
As a managing director and the medical office practice leader for JLL, Blake Goodman is in the middle of the action. In this edition of NJBIZ Conversations, he assesses the state of the market and suggests the factors that will likely drive it over the next several quarters.
