Late last week, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority announced the creation of a new division focused on real estate development and a series of resulting personnel moves.
Jorge Santos has been named NJEDA’s chief real estate development officer and will report directly to CEO Tim Sullivan.
Santos has served the past three years as chief of staff, working closely with NJEDA leadership to drive strategy and policy initiatives. He will lead the new division, which will also include major projects and oversee the agency’s continued partnership with the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority.
On Aug. 1, Dan Jennings will join the NJEDA as executive vice president for real estate development and programs. He will report to Santos. Jennings previously served as a senior advisor for economic development to Gov. Phil Murphy, focused on efforts to grow the state’s innovation economy.
Juan Burgos, meanwhile, has been promoted to vice president for real estate development and will continue to lead the team he has led on an interim basis. Burgos will report to Jennings when he begins at the NJEDA next month. Burgos has been with NJEDA since 2007 and previously served as director of real estate development and finance.
Finally, Emma Corrado — who previously served as a senior adviser – Community Development — was tapped as chief of staff for NJEDA, taking over for Santos.
