U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, D-6th District, announced on Wednesday that Monmouth Family Health Center has been awarded a Department of Health and Human Services grant of $1,627,907.

“I am pleased that Monmouth Family Health Center was awarded a grant to continue its outstanding work serving our communities,” Pallone said in a statement. “I am especially encouraged because this investment in preventative care will keep New Jersey residents healthy and out of the hospital. The Community Health Center Fund is an example of the impact that federal investments can make in our communities and yet another reason that President Trump should end his government shutdown.”

In his previous role as chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, Pallone played a role in authoring and passing the Affordable Care Act that created the Community Health Center Fund.

Pallone is currently the chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over health care.
