The world’s first Planet Playskool is making its debut in New Jersey.

The Hasbro-themed indoor family entertainment center is scheduled to open June 13 at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus. It will feature a mix of immersive play areas and interactive activity zones tailored to kids and parents alike.

At more than 20,000 square feet, Planet Playskool will give young kids a place to play and interact. Some of Hasbro’s most well-loved brands inspire the attractions, including Play-Doh, Mouse Trap, Spirograph, Transformers and Tinkertoy.

Planet Playskool’s launch comes from Kingsmen Xperience Inc., a U.S.-based subsidiary of international production company Kingsmen Creatives Ltd., and Bright Play LLC, a unit within family-friendly attractions operator Good Vibrations.

In a statement, Kingsmen Xperience Senior Executive Vice President Corey Redmond said, “We are elated to launch the first in the world debut of Planet Playskool at Garden State Plaza.”

“Having our first U.S. permanent family entertainment center with these iconic Hasbro brands at one of the most popular malls in the country is a labor of love that we hope families and kids will enjoy and engage with for years to come,” he said.

Creating magic

Hasbro Senior Vice President of Global Experiences, Partnerships and Music Matt Proulx said, “At Hasbro, we are constantly seeking ways to create magic through immersive play experiences for fans and families.”

“Planet Playskool not only brings this vision to life but takes it to the next level through STEAM-based activities that encourage kids to let their imagination run wild and practice their critical thinking skills, while getting them up and active. Visitors can express their unique selves through creative projects at the Play-Doh Imagination Station and get hands-on at Tinkertoy Town with construction activities, plus so much more. For every child and family who steps through the doors of Planet Playskool, we hope they have an unforgettable experience,” he said.

Kingsmen Xperience and Bright Play also plan to launch one of North America’s first Nerf Action Xperience venues. Set for the Paramus shopping mall, an official opening date has not yet been announced.

Spanning more than 36,000 square feet, Nerf Action Xperience will offer immersive activities inspired by the Nerf brand. The outlet is geared toward older kids, young adults and team building, as well as corporate events and parties.

Following the opening at Westfield Garden State Plaza, Kingsmen Xperience has said it plans to bring the concepts to other parts of the U.S. and Canada in coming years.
