In an effort to encourage meaningful conversation at the dinner table, pasta sauce brand Prego is offering a recording device to capture your family’s mealtime discussions.
The Camden-based The Campbell’s Co. subsidiary introduced the “Connection Keeper Bundle” as a limited-time offer. Along with a step-by-step guide, it also includes:
According to Prego, the small, hockey puck-shaped device is designed to sit in the center of the table. It records with the press of a single button. The gadget has two spatial audio microphones, a 16GB microSD card that holds up to eight hours of recording and a USB-C cable for transferring files.
The device does not include screens, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or artificial intelligence, the company noted.
According to Prego, the Connection Keeper Bundle will launch for $20 beginning April 27, while supplies last. It will produce only 100 bundles.
A collaboration with award-winning nonprofit StoryCorps will also offer families the option to upload recordings to a dedicated portal — and, if they choose, have them archived at the Library of Congress.
Brooklyn-headquartered StoryCorps works to record, preserve and share personal stories from everyday people through guided interviews. Since its 2003 founding, StoryCorps has recorded over 720,000 people across the U.S. The groups’ archive at the Library of Congress is considered the largest single collection of human voices every gathered.
The tie-up with Prego marks StoryCorp’s first consumer device partnership with a consumer-packaged goods brand. The partners noted the bundle arrives ahead of Mother’s Day (May 10) and Screen-Free Week (May 4–10).
Prego Marketing Director Jaime Zagami shared, “For generations, Prego has brought families together over the meals they love, helping create meaningful moments around the table. Through our partnership with StoryCorps, we’re inviting families to slow down, reconnect, and preserve the warmth, laughter, and real conversations that turn everyday meals into lasting memories.”
StoryCorps CEO Sandra Clark added, “We believe listening is a profound way to honor and connect with our loved ones — and that some of the most meaningful stories are shared in everyday moments, like around the table. We’re proud to partner with Prego to help families be present with one another, and to preserve their stories for generations to come.”
In addition to its billing by Fast Company as “one of the weirdest brand collaborations of 2026,” the partnership has raised privacy concerns about the collection, storage or potential sharing of sensitive data beyond a user’s control. However, Prego has said the device does not collect data nor connect to the cloud. The company highlights that families have full control over who accesses their recordings.
