Rider University is once again offering its free, six-week Veteran Entrepreneurship Training program this summer. The course offers veterans, their spouses and dependents an opportunity to develop new business concepts or expand existing ventures.

The Rider Center for Entrepreneurial Studies hosts the program. The school caps the Veteran Entrepreneurship Training initiative at 20 participants to allow for personalized feedback, while also providing mentorship, access to university resources and hands-on guidance in evaluating and refining business ideas.

The program also draws on support from the center’s advisory board and alumni, who serve as mentors throughout the experience.

“As the program enters its 13th year, I am continually impressed by the veterans,” said Ron Cook, professor of entrepreneurship and the program’s instructor. “They are eager to learn, and I’ve seen some successful businesses develop as a result of their efforts in the program.

“My goal is to show them a process to evaluate their ideas so they can make better business decisions.”

The program runs Wednesday evenings from May 13 through June 24 at Rider’s Lawrenceville campus. Applications will remain open through May 8.
