RWJBarnabas Health announced Jan. 27 it is the seventh organization to join the Healthcare Transformation Consortium, a collaboration of independent health systems in New Jersey working together to improve services for their employees and dependents.

The goal of the HTC is to enhance affordability and care for its team members and their families. Through the collective size of the consortium, member organizations can offer their employees more choices, cost savings and other benefits.
RWJBarnabas Health noted that all members of the HTC have self-funded employee health plans.
“By joining forces, the HTC facilitates collaboration to enhance and improve access to high-quality health care for covered employees and dependents while reducing costs,” RWJBarnabas President and CEO Mark Manigan said in a statement.
Audrey Meyers, chair of the HTC board and Valley Health System CEO emeritus, welcomed RWJBarnabas to the consortium, adding, “We look forward to collaborating with them to offer their staff and their dependents enhanced medical benefits as well as develop and implement additional Consortium strategies to innovate the care we provide to all those we serve.”
According to RWJBarnabas, HTC members provide medical benefits to more than 110,000 individuals.
RWJBarnabas Health is New Jersey’s largest health system, caring for more than 5 million people annually. The system includes 14 hospitals and 9,000 affiliated physicians providing services at more than 700 patient locations.
