Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway recently appointed Dr. Kenneth Janowski as chief medical officer, RWJBarnabas Health announced April 7.
In this position, Janowski will lead clinical operations and oversee the hospital’s medical staff, the network noted.
Janowski joins RWJBarnabas Health from Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where he served as interim CMO.
Prior to that role, he was vice president of medical affairs at Winchester Medical Center in Virginia. He also served as CMO at Bon Secours, part of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network in Suffern, N.Y. Additionally, Janowski has held leadership roles at New York Medical College in Valhalla and Atlantic Health’s Hackettstown Medical Center in Hackettstown.
“Dr. Janowski brings a thoughtful and collaborative leadership style, with a strong focus on aligning clinical teams and strengthening the delivery of care,” said Eric Kleinert, chief administrative officer, RWJUH Rahway. “His ability to bring physicians together around shared goals will be key as we continue to enhance patient-centered outcomes and advance our clinical programs.”
Dr. Andy Anderson is chief medical and quality officer for RWJBarnabas Health. He described Janowski as “a proven physician leader whose approach to clinical integration and performance aligns closely with RWJBarnabas Health’s mission and goals.”
Janowski earned his bachelor’s in biology and life sciences from the University of Maryland. He received his Doctor of Osteopathy from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine. Janowski completed his internal medicine residency at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown. He also completed an osteopathic internship at Union Hospital in Union.
RWJBarnabas did not immediately respond to a question about Janowski’s predecessor.
