  • Jackson Hole spans 2,500 acres with 130+ trails, iconic tram access
  • Platform already used at 30+ North American , including Mountain Creek

Vernon-based Snow Partners is teaming up with one of North America’s premier, top-ranked ski destinations to streamline operations and enhance guest experience.

As part of a partnership announced April 29, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming will adopt Snow Partners’ cloud-based resort management platform.

By using SnowCloud, Jackson Hole will consolidate its core operations into a single, unified program that includes ticketing, rentals, ski/snowboard school, retail, food & beverage and on-mountain experiences.

Set against the Teton Range of the Rocky Mountains, the 60-year-old resort is known for its iconic tram, legendary snowfall and 4,139 feet of continuous vertical terrain. With more than 130 trails across 2,500 acres, Jackson Hole is a popular destination for skiers and snowboarders from around the world.

The family-owned property also offers year-round experiences, such as hiking, climbing, mountain biking, sightseeing and adventure courses.

Purpose built for a better experience

Snow Partners co-founder and CEO Joe Hession remarked, “Jackson Hole has a long history of leading the industry forward. We’re proud to partner with a resort that shares our belief that technology should simplify operations – not complicate them.”

Hession added, “SnowCloud was purpose-built to replace the legacy tech stack with a single platform that connects every part of the business. That means better visibility for operators and a more intuitive, seamless experience for guests, from planning and purchase through every moment on the mountain.”

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Chief Executive Officer Doug Pierini shared, “We’re excited to partner with SnowCloud as we continue to evolve how we serve our guests.”

“SnowCloud replaces several separate systems with a single, modern solution that will support multiple lines of our business across the guest experience. By bringing everything together into one intuitive, easy-to-use solution, we’re simplifying how guests plan, navigate, and enjoy their time with us, so they can spend less time managing details and more time having their best day at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort,” he said.

Snow big deal

According to Snow Partners, more than 30 resorts across North America use SnowCloud. Some of its latest partnerships include Red Mountain in British Columbia, Blacktail Mountain in Montana, Mission Ridge in Washington and Marble Mountain in Newfoundland.

SnowCloud is also running at Snow Partners-owned in Vernon and Big Snow indoor ski park at American Dream mall in East Rutherford.

Hession is a ski industry veteran who spent 16 years working at Mountain Creek before leaving in 2016 to develop a venture focused on modernizing ski resort operations.

Through Snow Partners, Hession and his team work on operational strategy, guest experience, technology integration, and instruction programs with partner resorts across the U.S. and Canada. After Mountain Creek’s prior owners filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2017 due to heavy legacy debt – including roughly $26 million owed to the local utilities authority – Snow Partners took over management of ski operations under a 15-year contract.

The following year, Snow Partners began running all the resort’s businesses under a separate agreement, including the waterpark, zip lines, downhill mountain bike park, alpine coaster, treetop ropes course attraction, hiking trails, lodging and dining.

Once Snow Partners showed it could manage the properties and keep revenue flowing, the company negotiated a controlling interest in late 2018, taking full responsibility for the ski area and other resort functions. The move allowed the 60-year-old resort to emerge successfully from Chapter 11 with a stabilized financial and operational structure.

Snow Partners opened the 180,000-square-foot Big Snow in December 2019 as the first indoor ski and snowboard park in North America to operate year-round with real snow.
