After Stop & Shop‘s parent company was hit with a cyberattack, the supermarket chain says a handful of services are impacted.
In a Nov. 8 notice, the Ahold Delhaize USA-owned banner said it was forced to take “some systems offline,” including “a number of pharmacies and certain e-commerce operations,” as part of an effort to secure the issue and investigate the incident.
It’s unclear when the breach took place. However, Stop & Shop said its security teams “immediately” began working with external cybersecurity experts and notified law enforcement officials.
The company said stores remain open while it works on protecting systems and resolving the incident. Stop & Shop did not say if any personal information or business data was compromised.
“We will continue to take actions to further protect our systems. The security of our customers, associates and partners is a top priority. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused customers and partners,” Stop & Shop said.

Ahold Delhaize – one of the largest food retailers in the world – reported similar issues at its other U.S. brands, which include Food Lion, Hannaford, Giant Food and The Giant Co.
