Six Flags Great Adventure is looking forward to much, much warmer days.
In a Jan. 22 press release, the Jackson theme park announced its events lineup for the 2025 season.
Along with festivals and celebrations, Great Adventure will unveil a new thrill ride – The Flash: Vertical Velocity.
Billed as a first-of-its-kind family rollercoaster, The Flash: Vertical Velocity will rush forward and backward at nearly 60 miles per hour through a 180-degree twisted drop and zero-G roll, according to Six Flags.
The attraction was originally slated to open last year as part of the park’s 50th anniversary celebration, but it was postponed.
Brian Bacica, park president, said, “Our 2025 events lineup is packed with excitement and festive celebrations. We’re especially excited to debut The Flash: Vertical Velocity, a groundbreaking new ride that will elevate family thrills at Great Adventure.”
He added, “We’re eager to welcome visitors of all ages to create memories with friends and family.”

The announcement comes as Great Adventure is removing two popular rollercoasters, Kingda Ka and Green Lantern to make way for new attractions.
Ranked as the world’s tallest coaster – and previously fastest – Kingda Ka has delivered more than 12 million rides since 2005. Green Lantern opened in 2011, replacing the former Great American Scream Machine rollercoaster.
