Several significant changes have shaped the industry over the past year. But if the profession is able to meet the moment, the leaders profiled on this list will be the individuals who get it done.
No. 5: Lori Roth
Roth is global managing partner of Prager Metis, a member of Prager Metis International Group, and she is a partner in the Audit and Accounting, and Advisory Services Departments of the firm.
No. 2: Lara Abrash
Abrash is chair and CEO of Deloitte & Touche LLP, based in Parsippany. Beginning in June, she became the chair of Deloitte US.
No. 8: Diane Wasser
Based in Iselin, Wasser is partner-in-charge of New Jersey, managing partner of regions at Eisner Advisory group and a member of the Eisner Advisory Group Executive Committee.

Geltrude, aka America’s Accountant, is the founder of Geltrude & Co. He also developed a Work for Credit model for CPA students.
No. 9: Miklos Vasarhelyi
Vasarhelyi, director of the Rutgers University Accounting Research Center, has always been ahead of his time: From 1989 through 2006, he wrote six textbooks on how AI would impact accounting.

Sobel, a former president of the New Jersey Society of CPAs, is one of the most prominent members of the New Jersey accounting profession.
