TruGolf Inc., a longtime developer of simulation technology, is teeing up a new indoor concept that lets fans play the sport virtually.

As part of its first regional development deal, TruGolf Links, a subsidiary of TruGolf, will debut its franchise in New Jersey.

Working with local entrepreneur Nicholas Reimondo, the company expects to launch 40 centers across North and Central Jersey, as well as a few in Bucks County, Pa. Specific locations were not announced nor was a timeline for openings.

According to TruGolf Links, each facility will feature TruGolf’s state-of-the-art software and hardware, at least five simulator bays, upscale bar and dining area, club cleaning station and pro shop.

A flagship site comprises about 5,000 square feet or more and includes a double-sized bay with stadium seating for events. A standard location will occupy about 3,800 square feet, with five standard bays and full food and beverage service.

TruGolf founder and CEO Chris Jones said the concept was born out of “our passion for golf any time of the year.”

“We need to ensure both owner-operators and investors are supported, and we’ve developed an innovative approach to achieve this by offering a variety of growth paths. We are thrilled to officially hit the ground running with our first-ever franchisee to deliver our tech-forward vision to golfers everywhere,” he said.

While TruGolf Links offers individual franchises, the focus of its expansion efforts is with regional developers who acquire a territory of 1 million or more in population. After opening a flagship site within that territory, regional developers will develop additional units they own or with independent franchisees, the company said.

Playing through

According to TruGolf Links, the first 10 regional developers will be part of the company’s advisory council. These “president’s circle” members receive benefits including reduced territory fees as well as enhanced sales and support compensation.

Within the next six months, TruGolf Links expects to sign a dozen deals. During an interview last month with The Franchise Times, Jones noted interest from potential partners in Florida, New York and South Carolina.

Reimondo

Reimondo’s background includes 17 years of hospitality experience working with Hyatt, Starwood Hotels and Deloitte consulting. In 2020, he began his own package delivery business as an Amazon Delivery Service Partner, which allowed him to build capital for a larger investment.

Now, with his substantial investment in TruGolf, Reimondo aims to bring the concept to the East Coast, fueling the indoor golf simulator scene with the most modernized technology.

Reimondo, who is also an avid golfer, said, “When I found TruGolf Links, I knew I had found the perfect fit. The model is clear, and the potential is immense. I’m looking forward to opening multiple locations and developing a robust network of franchises across New Jersey. This is a fantastic opportunity to build something special and become a key player in the industry.”

Ben Litalien, TruGolf Link’s chief development officer, added, “We could not be more excited to have Nick as our first developer, franchisee and member of the President’s Circle. He is an amazing businessman whose passion for golf now gives him the opportunity to develop a significant network of TruGolf Links Centers.”
