Hoboken-based Unilever USA‘s Dove beauty brand is launching a line specifically for women navigating hormonal shifts, perimenopause and menopause.
Developed in collaboration with dermatologists and OB/GYNs, the Women’s Wellness Collection aims to deliver superior care for symptoms such as itching, odors, dryness and sensitivity.
Available exclusively on Amazon starting Aug. 4, the products include:
According to market research conducted by Dove, 43% of women age 45 and up are actively looking for skincare that meets their changing needs, but 83% of them report feeling stigma regarding their symptoms.
Dr. Alicia Robbins, a board-certified gynecologist, perimenopause specialist and Women’s Wellness Collection co-developer, said, “Women come to my office and say, ‘TMI, but my body odor is so strong now,’ or, ‘My skin is dry and my nails are so thin — is this normal?’
“It’s pretty wild that the majority of women don’t realize these are common symptoms of perimenopause. That silence leaves them feeling like they’re the only ones going through it.”
With its new lineup of products, Dove hopes to break the silence and rewrite what wellness looks like at midlife and beyond by showing women how to embrace these changes with confidence instead of shame. Dove is also unveiling “Made with TMI.” The campaign focuses on “turning stigma into solidarity” by sharing honest, first-person insights about hormonal health.
