The Assurance Practice at a Florham Park accounting firm is growing with the help of a new hire, and the promotion of two of the company’s own professionals.
On Tuesday, Untracht Early LLC announced Dennis Murtha as executive director, Robert Slootmaker as principal, and the addition of Principal Timothy Schnall.
According to the certified public accounting firm, the moves will enhance its assurance, outsourced accounting and business support, and audit assistance functionality.
Schnall spent 22 years as an audit partner serving alternative investment clients at a Big Four Investment Management Practice, Untracht Early said. He specializes in accounting, financial reporting, internal control and audit assistance services for private equity funds, hedge funds, fund of funds, infrastructure funds and real estate funds, with clients ranging from startup managers to multinational financial institutions.
In matters involving a team of specialists, Scnhall was responsible for coordinating taxation and valuation resources, the firm said. He currently serves as a member of the president’s advisory council at Muhlenberg College.
Murtha has been with the firm since 2003. As an executive director he will work with Untracht Early’s principals to help supervise across practice areas and to implement strategy design. He has oversight for compilations, reviews, and audit engagements and works primarily with investment management and real estate investment companies and other commercial clients, the firm said.
Murtha also assists clients with a variety of outsourced accounting and business support services. He is a member of the financial committee at St. Gabriel’s Church.
Slootmaker joined Untracht Early in 2009. He mainly works with investment management companies, private equity funds, brokers-dealers, commercial clients and employee benefit plans and in his new role will continue to provide assurance, financial statement preparation, outsource accounting and partnership taxation services to clients. The firm said he is also a member of its leadership development program, where he is involved in identifying and implementing areas of change to help achieve strategic goals.
Untracht Early has additional offices in New York and Orlando, Fla.
