As part of a move to offer easy and convenient access to services, Valley Health System is expanding its optical shop.
The store was previously located on the second floor of Valley’s ophthalmology practice at 1200 E. Ridgewood Ave. in Ridgewood. Now, the network relocated the store to a space on the ground level of the same building.
According to Valley, the newly fashioned optical shop has areas where patients can complete an eye exam with an optometrist, a physician who focuses on eyes and vision. They can also meet with an optician, a specialist trained to design, measure and correct lenses and frames.
Additionally, it features a bigger variety of adult and children’s eyewear, along with a wider array of designer brands, such as Tom Ford, Kate Spade, Modo, Hugo Boss, Nicole Miller and Maui Jim.
Alex Perez, a Valley optician, said, “We have expanded our glasses selection from 978 frames 1,300 options. We create the glasses on-site with a convenient five-working-day turnaround.”
The shop is available for walk-ins, but appointments are required for eye exams. Insurance is not accepted; however, it does take check, credit card or HSA/FSA.
Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
