Vantage Commercial announced progress toward its goal to complete leasing at the Southwood Shopping Center in West Deptford Nov. 4 with the signing of five new tenants.
The brokerage sold the 82,763-square-foot property located at 875 Mantua Pike in 2021 to local investors. Now, with an anticipated redevelopment in the works, Vantage Commercial, Vantage Property Management and new ownership are collaborating on the effort to lease up remaining vacancies.
Vantage Director of Client Services Corinne Giletto and Property Manager Andrea Hannigan are leading the assignment.
The new tenants include:
Existing tenants – some of which Vantage said have resided at the property for more than 50 years – include Abbey Carpets, Family Dollar, Sherwin Williams, Old Towne Music, Orange Cleaners, Bank of America, a Barber Shop and the aforementioned Riverside Urgent Care.
Work to upgrade the center is expected to begin over the next few months. Exterior renovations will enhance the aesthetic appeal of the center in addition to its functionality, Vantage said, with a new elevation for the façade, brick columns and “crisp” exterior colors.
Vantage said completing occupancy and leasing large anchor openings and in-line spaces to major users – like health care, service businesses and restaurants – is key to redevelopment efforts.
Giletto is actively seeking new tenants, including for the former JoAnn’s Fabric’s space (approximately 11,300 square feet), the former Aldi’s space (approximately 15,000 square feet) and courtyard space (from approximately 1,200 square feet to 2,800 square feet).
According to Vantage’s website, the Southwood Shopping Center supports retail, office, agency or studio, bank, personal service and craftsmen’s shop, mortuary, restaurant or dining room tenants.
