William Paterson University is launching an effort aimed at bringing together local entrepreneurs, small business owners and innovators.
The monthly Entrepreneur Meetup Series promotes a gathering focused on connection, learning and growth. It marks a collaborative initiative between the university’s Center for Socially Responsible Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CSREI), the New Jersey Small Business Development Center at WPU, and the Passaic County Department of Economic Development.
Organizers say the series was developed in response to a growing demand among regional entrepreneurs for consistent networking and peer-to-peer learning opportunities.
“Entrepreneurs thrive when they’re part of a community,” said CSREI Director Sarbjeet Rayat. “Our mission is to help bold ideas become real-world solutions that advance profit, people, and planet.”
“Our network of consultants and experts covers business planning, marketing, finance, HR, and more,” said Melissa Rosario, regional director of the NJSBDC at William Paterson University. “This network will be an integral part of the series, providing attendees with ongoing support and guidance beyond the meetups.”
“This series creates a space where entrepreneurs can connect, learn from one another, and openly share both successes and challenges,” said Rayat.

Rosario added, “Whether you’re just starting out or scaling up, there’s something here for everyone.”
“Passaic County is full of entrepreneurial energy, and we are proud to support initiatives that connect and empower local business owners,” said Pasquale “Pat” Lepore, director of the Passaic County Board of Commissioners. “When our entrepreneurs thrive, our communities thrive. This meetup series is part of our broader effort to strengthen local entrepreneurship and economic development.”
