Atlantic City elected officials, community leaders, project partners and employees of South Jersey Gas donned hard hats recently for a tour of the site being developed for the company’s new 75,000-square-foot corporate headquarters.Atlantic City elected officials, community leaders, project partners and employees of South Jersey Gas donned hard hats recently for a tour of the site being developed for the company’s new 75,000-square-foot corporate headquarters.

The construction of the six-story building is part of the Atlantic City Gateway Project, a $210 million public-private partnership redevelopment initiative on 270,000 square feet of land in the heart of the city.

Project partners include AC Devco, the South Jersey Building Trades and Joseph Jingoli & Son Inc.

Construction of the utility’s headquarters began in 2017 and is targeted for completion in late 2018.

The Gateway project also includes a beachfront satellite campus for Stockton University and a parking garage, with 7,000 square feet of retail space.

“As the construction of our new headquarters nears its targeted fall completion, we wanted to celebrate our progress to date with the many stakeholders who have supported this project,” SJG President Dave Robbins said. “We consider this return to Atlantic City as a kind of homecoming. We’re energized by the prospect of returning to our roots and helping Atlantic City return to the vibrant, bustling, beach venue that we know it to be.”
