Organic cookie company Bang Cookies is launching a store at the Jersey Shore.

Located at 1609 Route 35 in Ocean Township, the brand will celebrate its Nov. 23 grand opening with free cookies for the first 500 guests. Festivities will begin at 11:30 a.m. and include raffles, giveaways, live music and DJs, as well as a chance to meet food influencer and comedian Corey Bonalewicz, aka Corey B, a co-owner of Bang.

Founded in 2016 by George Kuan, the Jersey City-based brand is known for its giant, stuffed, soft-baked cookies made with all-natural and organic ingredients. The venture started out selling its treats at a farmers market and soon expanded into brick-and-mortar, as well as e-commerce.

The brand now has outposts in downtown Jersey City, Menlo Park Mall in Edison, Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark and American Dream in East Rutherford. It also has a store in King of Prussia, Pa.

The upcoming shop is owned and operated by Mike Smilo, founder of Smilo Group, a Red Bank investment company focused on lifestyle, music, entertainment, medical, aesthetics and hospitality brands.

For Smilo, who served as one of Kuan’s original consultants on the business, Ocean Township will be the first of several other Bang Cookies locations to open “in the near future,” according to a news release.

In a statement, Smilo said, “George built a foundation ripe for its next stage of growth— a delicious product, catchy branding, a top-tier tech stack, and a loyal customer base—I knew that once I joined forces, I would help elevate the brand and scale the business. So, I doubled down on franchise expansion, beginning in New Jersey and beyond.”

Smilo’s other businesses include a treatment center for addiction and mental health support co-launched with “Jersey Shore” star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.

His portfolio also incudes VIO Med Spa in Holmdel, 14 European Wax Centers in the New York City metropolitan area and ProSports RX in Las Vegas, as well as restaurant partnerships in Manhattan.
